Just a quick note today to let you all know that I finished the first draft of The Wolf Pact yesterday. The manuscript needs a lot of love still but I’m very happy with what’s there, overall.
I’m kicking off the editing process today. I should have a draft ready for alpha readers very soon.
Once The Wolf Pact is buffed and shined, I’m going to dive into the sequel, Fairy Tale Ending. I’ve never been so jazzed about writing fiction before. It feels good to finally be in a place where I’m comfortable writing novels.
Anyway, that’s all I have for now. I’ll update again when I have more to share.

Little Fears: The Wolf Pact, my foray into bringing Little Fears into the world of Middle Grade fiction, currently sits at 32k words. I reckon I’m about 4k words from finish. I am to wrap up the first draft tomorrow.
My 8yo is super-stoked to read it which makes me very happy.
Once the first draft is done, I’m giving myself two to three weeks to revise it. Then it’ll go out to beta readers for feedback. More revision will follow. Publication should be early summer? Maybe sooner, depending on how the editing process goes.
I spent some time today tweaking the cover for the book. I’ve pasted the latest version below for your feedback. It’s coming together, folks! Woohoo!

After a heated weekend sprint, I hit the 80% mark on the Little Fears Middle Grade novel The Wolf Pact. I can see the first draft wrapping up by the end of the week.
Doesn’t mean it’ll be good to go though. I’ll take it through multiple editing passes before releasing it in digital.
Those of you who pledged for a digital copy of the book during the Blessed are the Children Kickstarter will get your comp copies first. Then I’ll put it up for wider sale on DriveThruFiction, Amazon, etc.
The print copies will follow but I’m considering a Kickstarter to fund a wider print run and to also fund the follow-up, tentatively titled Fairy Tale Ending, which I will have written prior to the launch of the Kickstarter.
I’m just considering this though. I don’t want to hold up those who have been waiting for their print copies but it might be nice to potentially add some interior illustrations to the book (akin to Clive Barker’s The Thief of Always, if you’re familiar).
I’ll follow up once the first draft is done. Stay tuned!

Woah! Nerdery uber-site Geek & Sundry did a follow-up article to their list of classic non-D&D roleplaying games, and they gave a shout-out to my own Little Fears! Despite the original being 15 years old and the Nightmare Edition heading toward the seven-year mark, the game of childhood terror was usually flown under the radar, thriving on word of mouth. It stuns me every time Little Fears pops up in the mainish-stream press (such as when the Escapist did a piece on it).
Huge thanks to Jessica Fisher and Geek & Sundry for the love!

Hey everyone, it’s been a while since I posted but I wanted you all to know I have some pretty cool Little Fears projects in the works. I need to finish up the first supplement for Streets of Bedlam, as well as a major project that crossed my lap recently, but there will be new releases for Little Fears Nightmare Edition starting around summer.
Small update but there it is. I’ll post more info as I can!

If you ordered any Little Fears-related products prior to Monday of this week—LFNE, Book 2, Happy Birthday, Dice—whether international or domestic, your order has shipped. I worked through the backlog of orders this past weekend to get everything in the mail Tuesday. If your order included a PDF, you should have already received those within 24 hours (usually much less) of placing your order. If you haven’t received your PDF, check your spam folder. If it’s not there, please send an email to email@example.com.
If you’re waiting on physical products, US customers should get their stuff by week’s end. Canadians should get it by mid-next week, I’d guess. Orders outside North America can be all over the map, from three days to three weeks, but I promise your stuff is in the mail.
Thank you all for your patience. It is greatly appreciated. I feels good to finally be getting on top of things again.

Hey Little Fears fans! Campfire Tales #6 is still slated for release next week but after that I’ll be focusing on a new RPG project for a bit, my upcoming gritty neo-noir crime setting Streets of Bedlam: A Savage World of Crime + Corruption.
I launched the Kickstarter for it last week and the response has been amazing. Early supporters of the game will get credit, can get listed as an NPC in the book, get some Kickstarter-exclusive archetypes, influence future supplements, or even immortalize themselves as major players in the world of Streets of Bedlam!
I hope you check out the new project. I’m posting previews on StreetsOfBedlam.com. Two of the game Archetypes are already up (Monster and Valkyrie). Future updates will reveal more Archetypes, new rules, and more.
If this sounds up your alley, I would really appreciate your support!

If you ordered a digital copy from me, you should have received a code from DriveThruRPG about ten hours ago because Happy Birthday, Little Fears is now available in PDF!
For those waiting on the print copy, I will submit the print files next week which should get copies in my hands about two weeks after that. I’ll ship out orders as soon as I can. If you ordered another book along with Happy Birthday, Little Fears, you’ll get your entire order at that time.
I really appreciate your patience and I hope you enjoy Happy Birthday, Little Fears. If you ordered a PDF from me and did not receive your code already, please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org and I’ll sort it out.
If you’re on the fence about Happy Birthday, Little Fears, you can check out an excerpt on the DriveThruRPG site, the PDF preview I posted earlier this month, or this new PDF preview I uploaded just now!

First, The Good News!
Ten years ago today, I released the original Little Fears at the 2001 Origins Game Fair in Columbus, Ohio. That game changed my life and was the first brick in the path that would become my career. I cannot overstate the impact that game about kids fighting monsters had and the number of doors it opened for me.
I owe a lot to all the people who have supported me through the years: The fans, the friends, the stores, and family members who have stood by me as I reached for a seemingly-impossible dream. Thank you all very much, from the bottom of my heart.
And thank you, Little Fears. I couldn’t have asked for a better first game than you.
Now, The Bad News…
Unfortunately, the tenth anniversary edition of Little Fears, which I planned to release in PDF today, isn’t *quite* ready yet. I’m afraid I need to push the release back a week. Happy Birthday, Little Fears will see release in PDF on July 13th. I am leaving the pre-order pricing up until that time. Not a fix for the delay but it’s what I can do.
My sincerest apologies, but the extra time gives me a chance to polish the book a bit more and make it much better in the end. Thank you for your understanding and, to help smooth things over, please have some cake.
