Well, this is much later than I originally planned but I am very happy to start sharing some of Book 3: Blessed are the Children with you. Let’s start at the beginning, shall we, with the full PDF preview of the introduction to the book. This covers the basic idea of the book and lays out what you should expect to see.

Whew. Just under the wire.

The newest Campfire Tale is now available on DriveThruRPG and RPGNow:

Summer is the best time ever. No more pencils, no more books, you know the deal. And this year, it’s going to be extra-awesome because you’re spending two weeks at Camp Howland Rolf where you’ll be swimming, playing sports, running around like crazy, fending off the attacks of ravenous woodland creatures…

Wait—what was that last part again?

“Camp Howling Wolf” is just $5 for a full standalone episode including three new monsters and six new GMCs for use with this or any Little Fears Nightmare Edition episode.

I hope you enjoy this new episode! If you get a chance to play it, please let me know what you think.

If you pre-ordered the Little Fears custom dice, you should have already received a code for your free copy through DriveThruRPG. If you haven’t received your code yet, please let me know right away and I’ll take care of it.

Campfire Tales #6 – Out Wednesday!

downloads, lfneJason L Blair19 December 2011

Off by a week but ready nonetheless! Campfire Tales #6: Old Man Winter will be out this Wednesday. (I’ll also be revealing some news about future Campfire Tales at that time as well.)

Winter has come and with it—wait, where’s the snow? It’s almost the end of December and not a flake has fallen. While initially dismissed as simply an unseasonable warm spell, a curious admission from the neighborhood goody-two-shoes reveals there may be something nefarious at work here. Think you’re up for saving an entire season?

The newest Campfire Tale is now available on DriveThruRPG and RPGNow:

Kids can be so cruel. And while some scars fade with time, some wounds never heal. These cut so deep, their pain lingers even beyond death. On this quiet Fall day in the neighborhood of Hansom Creek, a past victim of local cruelty comes back to seek revenge on her tormentors. Those wicked children will pay for their crimes.

Something evil is on the wind.

As with all the Campfire Tales, “Dead Leaves” is just $2 for a full standalone episode including two new monsters and four new GMCs for use with this or any Little Fears Nightmare Edition episode.

I hope you enjoy this new episode! If you get a chance to play it, please let me know what you think.

Campfire Tales #5 Update

downloads, lfneJason L Blair14 November 2011

Hey everybody,

I spent the past week working on a new Middle Grade novel (and hit the 60% mark on Friday). While this was great news on a personal project, it took my attention away from getting Campfire Tales #5 ready for a release this week. I am currently working on it though and will be pushing on it as my first priority for the week.

It may slip a couple days though. I’m working so that doesn’t happen but I want to address the possibility. Same deal as last time: If the release slips past Friday, I’ll release it free. (Further personal motivation to not let that happen.)

Campfire Tales and DriveThru Sales

downloads, lfne, news, ReviewsJason L Blair14 January 2011

Over at Brainhouse Studios, Kirkimus Prime reviews the first three installments of Campfire Tales. If you’ve been thinking about picking up the series so far but wanted to know just a bit more before pressing “Buy Now” check out his reviews. (And if you’ve had a chance to read—and hopefully play!—any of the Campfire Tales episodes I’d love to know what you think, either via email or by leaving a review on the episode’s DriveThruRPG sales page.)

Speaking of DriveThruRPG, less than four days remain to pick up Little Fears Nightmare Edition along with dozens of other great games for just $11 each. I’m very happy with the response to the sale so far. Lots of new folks are picking up the core book, which I hope means lots of you are playing it or will be playing it soon.

Campfire Tales #3: The Longest Night of Your Life is available now! This third entry in the monthly Campfire Tales series for Little Fears Nightmare Edition gives your kids exactly what they want. Just remember, “It’s all fun and games until someone gets hurt.”

Product description:

The kids wake up in a room full of toys and not a single adult in sight. It’s a dream come true with no parents, no school, and no rules–but something’s obviously not right with this room or the children who were already in it. And while some may like to live forever in this toy-filled utopia, the price for their fun may be their lives if the kids can’t figure out the way home soon.

“The Longest Night of Your Life” is the third in the CAMPFIRE TALES series of monthly standalone episodes for use with Little Fears Nightmare Edition.

Just $2 for twenty pages of monster-hunting fun with more to come next month. Enjoy and let me know what you think of the third installment of Campfire Tales!

News and Cover for Campfire Tales #3

downloads, lfne, newsJason L Blair13 December 2010

Work continues on new Little Fears products and I have some big surprises lined up for next year. I’ll stay mum until January or February or so but I think the big one will surprise a lot of you. But no more—let’s save something for the winter season.

And speaking of winter, we have the first winter-themed entry in the Campfire Tales series with #3: The Longest Night of Your Life. It should be ready next week provided there are no hiccups. For those interested, here’s the cover:

Other irons are in the Little Fears fire as well but I can’t speak of them just yet. As soon as I can though you’ll be the first to know.

LFNE Scenario in Protodimension #6

downloads, lfneJason L Blair29 November 2010

The Fall 2010 issue of Protodimension Magazine is out and it features a very cool scenario for Little Fears Nightmare Edition called “The Truth about Mr. Taylor.” Written by Managing Editor Norm Fenlason, this “cul-de-sac adventure” takes players on a curious trip around the neighborhood and introduces an out-of-this-world monster I think your group will enjoy.

You can download the PDF of Protodimension Magazine #6 here. The LFNE scenario starts on page 58 but the rest of the magazine is no slouch either. If Issue 6 piques your interest, the entire back catalog is available for download as well. Check it out, there’s lots of good stuff in those pages (including material for the original Little Fears, if you’re so inclined).

Big thanks to Norm and the rest of the Protodimension team for their support of Little Fears Nightmare Edition. Protodimension is a good group of guys who support a lot of great horror and dark fantasy systems, both old and new. I look forward to what they cook up next.
